Lance Cpl. John A. Lucente

Lance Cpl. John A. Lucente, 19, of Fresno, Calif died Nov. 16 while conducting combat operations against enemy forces during Operation Steel Curtain in Ubaydi, Iraq. Lucente died from wounds sustained from an enemy hand grenade. He was assigned to Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, His unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).

FORGOTTEN WARRIOR
He lives alone In the hills and the trees
He bares his soul To the cool mountain breeze
He talks to the Spirit He listens to the Wind
